Welcome to spring Rock Fans. And there’s much more to celebrate than just the impending summer. Kicking off the season will be Heaviside’s all out, no-holds barred, rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza at Edmonton’s the Pawn Shop on May 25th. If you come to see one local show this year, make sure it’s this one. Heaviside is teaming up with their brothers (and sister) in rock the Frank, the Apresnos & Cloud Seekers for what promises to be one hell of a night. Tickets are only $10 each so let us know how many you need and we’ll make sure you get them. So save the date, and be the first on your block to pick up Heaviside’s Wasted Generation.
The ball has already started rolling, and Wasted Generation’s lead single “Lady” has been bounding up the charts to where it currently resides at #60 on the Canadian Active Rock Chart, obliterating Heaviside’s previous chart high set by “Queen For A Day” last year. If you haven’t already, check it out, I assure you the 99 cents you spend on this rockin’ little number will serve you far better than a bad cup of coffee…

Heaviside will also be previewing a few songs off the album on CJSR’s Shoebox Music with Pete the Rocker this Wednesday from 10 – 11 PM. For those of you in Edmonton tune into 88.5 FM to get a sneak peak of Wasted Generation. If you’re not in the area you can listen live online at http://cjsr.streamon.fm/
If you can’t tune in, haven’t listened to “Lady” and aren’t planning on coming to the CD launch, then we obviously need to twist your arm. You need Heaviside in your life; you just don’t know it yet. Here, we’ll make it real easy for you. Check out this quick snippet of us in the studio… and what’s that playing in the background? A new Heaviside song? Take a listen:
Did that do it? You’re sold? Coming to the show? Well, how about reading a couple of initial reviews for Wasted Generation:
“As a whole, the album is a great listen. Something I could imagine people having good sex to. Something I want in this world. It’s wholesome rock. There’s no gimmicks, no cheese, no flair. Just a great voice with great musicians playing rock music.” – Carrie Robinson, The Advantage of Doing
Enticed? Convinced? You like good sex right? Who doesn’t? If you’re still not sold, read on.
“This thing sounds like it could have travelled in a flux-capacitor-powered El Camino from 1977, bringing with it chicks in tiny jean-shorts and fluorescent bikini tops, drinking Michelob Lite out of their own cleavage with brightly-coloured twisty-straws.” – Vance Ternowski, The Square Root of One
Alright, if that didn’t convince you then get outta here. Go home and put on your favourite Coldplay record, we didn’t want to hang out with you anyway.
For those of you who are the slightest bit curious, then get your ass out to the Pawn Shop on May 25th. Even if you’re not a rocker, this will be the show to convert you! You will be awakened; a rock ‘n’ roll baptism of sorts.
Until then, stay classy rock fans.
Cheers,
Heaviside
