Fall Newsletter 2013
Hey there rock fans, been a little while since we’ve done one of these. But for good reason, we have had a whirlwind the past few months.
We kicked off summer with an energetic performance at the 2013 Boonstock Music Festival, performing alongside our heroes Slash, Monster Truck and the Headstones. Heaviside also received media coverage from the festival and was featured in the Edmonton Sun and on CTV! We then hit the stage a mere week later to perform at the official Boonstock after party at the Pawn Shop in Edmonton. Those in attendance were treated to an aftershock of the grand festival; it was truly a spectacle to behold.
Heaviside closed out the summer by performing as the Sunday night headliner at Alberta’s Own Independent Music Festival. We were selected for the spot by Red Deer’s 106.7 the Drive, and were afforded the opportunity to top the bill alongside the infamous Clutch, what an experience it was.
If you were one of the unfortunate souls who missed either of our festival performances, fear not, there are two ways you can rectify this. Firstly, we possess video evidence of the fantastic time that you missed. So by all means, take a look and try to re-live the magic via your computer screen.
Or (and this is the better option) you can come experience the real thing in the very near future. That’s right! Heaviside has already booked a slew of fall dates. So if you haven’t been to a show in awhile now‘s your chance to catch up on what you’ve missed, and we promise we’ll make it worth your while. In addition to hopping around from festival to festival this summer, the boys have been hard at work with brand new Heaviside material.
Evidence seems to suggest that the first batch of new songs will be debuted at the band’s upcoming Starlite Room gig in Edmonton on October 5th. Who knows one of these songs may be a future #1 hit. Wouldn’t you want to be there the first time they were played so you could say, “I was there when they performed it for the very first time and Mitchell royally screwed up the words.” It could happen.
If you can’t make it out on October 5th, we have already booked several other dates across Alberta this fall, so we hope to see your smiling (if not slightly drunken) faces at one of them. Check out the tour section of the site or get in touch with your favorite band member and we’ll get you up to speed on when and where you can catch us.
We look forward to getting out and seeing all you wonderful people again, stay tuned rock fans.
