Fall Newsletter

Hello there Rock Fans.  It’s that time again, another Heaviside newsletter.  Since these things don’t seem to follow any type of monthly, quarterly or semi-annual schedule we’ll simply call this one the Fall newsletter.

We’ve got lots of exciting things going on right now so we’ll just jump right in with both feet.  First and foremost Heaviside recently released their first ever music video.  The video for the current single “Lady” was released to much fanfare last Tuesday, even garnering a notable feature on Alan Cross’ website.  If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to see it you’re missing out, we’ll even make it easy for you here’s the link: http://youtu.be/3wa66NkhWpg  Take a look a look and let us know what you think.

Next up we’re draping on the scarves and leather to perform as Aerosmith at the Starlite Room’s annual Bands as Bands Halloween Party.  For those who don’t remember we did a successful portrayal as Led Zeppelin last year (check out our video section to refresh your memory).  This year we’re up for a new challenge and will once again be mimicking one of rock’s finest acts.  Mitchell has looked into a variety of collagen lip surgery’s, Johno’s been trying to figure out how the hell he’s gonna do that talk box thing at the start of “Sweet Emotion” and Spenny has a perm booked the day before the show to get that sweet, sweet Joey Kramer hair-do.  Kyle has had his hands full mastering some of the wackiest basslines rock music has to offer (just listen to “Back in the Saddle” a few times to hear the workout his fingers have been getting).  Tickets for this memorable event are available through the band, but are limited so let us know soon if you’re interested.  If you’re not one of the lucky few able to nab advance tickets you can still show up to Starlite Room October 31st, at 7pm and some lovely girl will more than willingly take your money there.  Any wigs adorned during this event will be donated to the Skullet Reduction Foundation.  This foundation assists aging rockers in keeping that edgy long-haired look despite the onset of male pattern baldness.  So come out and support a great cause, hope to see you all there.

Next up we’re going down south.  Not really, but when you’re based in Edmonton there’s not a whole lot of other directions to go.  We’ll be hitting up Calgary on November 16th at Studio 37.  Make sure you’ve got your winter tires on and your snowbrushes ready, cuz this is gonna be an event worthy of dusting off the ol’ automobile and trekking through Canada’s sub-zero temperatures.  Details coming soon, just save the date and get those tires changed!

Lastly, with the New Year coming fast upon us we are in the midst of choosing our next radio single.  Any suggestions?  What’s your favourite Heaviside song off the new album?  Haven’t heard it?  Grab it off iTunes here https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/wasted-generation/id530759042 and let us know what you think; we’d love to hear your thoughts.  So that should get us up to date with everything Heaviside.   We’re working on getting to a stage near you very soon.  Until then, this is your favourite local rock band signing off.

Cheers,

Heaviside

Solid bass, deadly drums, soaring vocals, searing guitars…loved the music…It was a pleasure meeting Mitchell! Bought the CD and been playing it non-stop, since. Love every track. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing the band again…Congratulations on 6 years together…
