Merry Christmas
It’s that time of year again… Christmas letter season. While we don’t have a photo of us wearing matching plaid sweaters to send out, we definitely have a lot of great things to recap from 2013!
We kicked the year off by heading into the studio with our friend Terry Paholek of Edmonton’s the Physics Lab to record a yet to be released Guess Who cover. It’s quite a different take on the original and should see the light of day early in the New Year, so we hope you’re all looking forward to that.

As with any year there were many opportunities to see Heaviside’s characteristically raucous live performances. While each and every show is a special experience we had a few highlights that stood out this past year. Heaviside was fortunate enough to perform at Rexall Place (the big stadium where the Oilers play for those who don’t know) not once, but on four separate occasions when we were asked by the Oil Kings to play the intermissions during their playoff run. It was a fantastic experience to be able to play the same venue where we’ve watched so many of our idols take the stage.

Following that we were one of the artists selected to perform at this years Boonstock Music Festival. Again, we were completely floored watching Johno’s hero Slash take the very same stage we had just performed on.
Lastly, Heaviside won headlining a slot at the Alberta’s Own Independent Music Festival, where we played alongside yet another great band, Clutch. It has truly been a great year for us on the stage.
It only seems fitting that we cap off the year in the same way we started it, by heading back into the studio with Terry. We recorded a brand new original song (only performed live once) called Aardvark on the first weekend in December and are in the mixing stages with it. We are hoping to have it released early in the New Year and are excited for all you rock fans to hear it!
As we look back on our accomplishments over the past year we are also looking forward to the new changes and new songs that 2014 will bring. As we have been writing in recent months, we are hoping to make our way into the studio again this year and have a lot of new music coming your way over the next few months.
We would like to cap off by wishing you and your family a safe and happy holiday. We look forward to seeing all your smiling faces front row and centre in the New Year! Merry Christmas rock fans!
