Spring 2013 Newsletter
Hey there rock fans! Welcome the Heaviside spring newsletter. As many of you already know we have already been extremely busy this year and a lot has happened.
January saw us recording once again at the Physics Lab with producer and friend Terry Paholek. Having signed on to be part of a Guess Who tribute album, we had the privilege of putting our own spin on a 1972 classic by one of Canada’s most revered artists. With mixing nearing completion we’re looking forward to unveiling this shiny new track and hoping it becomes a welcome addition to the Heaviside catalogue.
January also witnessed us rock the Pawn Shop to its foundations with a show not soon to be forgotten. And if you were one of the unfortunate souls who missed that show, we’re hoping you caught us at Avenue Theatre on March 9th where we did it all over again in order to help our brothers in rock Fair Blue launch their newly recorded EP into the world.

Now that you’re up to speed we have some very exciting things coming up in the near future. Firstly, we have just released our single “War Machine” to Canadian radio and we’re already starting to here back from some of the stations, so hopefully we see it rising up the chart very soon. Work on a music video is underway and we’re hoping to have a follow-up to the “Lady” video soon. And in answer to the question that’s on everyone’s mind, no, Spenny will not be reprising his role as a transvestite call girl. It seems to be the most common question we get these days, that and, “what number do we need to call to reach that chick from your video.”
In other news we are also performing at the Edmonton Oil Kings game this Saturday and are excited to bring our brand of rock ‘n’ roll to a whole new audience. Hopefully you were one of the lucky few who got tickets to this event because believe me they went fast. Hockey and Heaviside, what more could any good Canadian rock fan ask for? Well beer I guess, but you’re in luck, Rexall Place has some of the most well used beer taps in Canada J
Moving on, Heaviside will be sharing the stage with one of Canada’s brightest up and coming artists One Bad Son!!! We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to play with these guys, they are true rockers and currently have a top 5 hit in Canada with “Scarecrows”! If you haven’t already given these guys a listen I strongly suggest that you do, you won’t regret it. We will be taking the stage with these guys at the Pawn Shop on April 24 (Mitchell and Kyle’s Birthday!). Tickets are gonna go fast so don’t waste any time on this one and get yours today. Tickets are available online at http://yeglive.ca/events/one-bad-son/apr-24-2013/pawnshop and are also available at Blackbyrd Myoozik (10442 82 Ave NW, Edmonton)

Last, but definitely not least Heaviside has been invited to perform at this year’s Boonstock Music Festival which runs from June 27th to 30th in Gibbons Alberta. This is an amazing opportunity and we are so excited to be part of this ever-growing festival. We will be playing alongside great artists like Canada’s own Monster Truck, Godsmack, Sebastian Bach, Daniel Wesley, Sublime with Rome, the Dropkick Murhpy’s and many more. Also, we will be hitting up the festival with our brothers (and sister) in rock the Frank and Shelbi. It’s stacking up to be an exciting weekend. Heaviside will be performing on Friday June 28 and tickets are available online at http://www.boonstock.ca/tickets.html Currently only 3-Day weekend passes are available, but single day passes will be released in June if you plan on only attending one day of the event.
So as you can see there is a lot going on in the Heaviside camp this year. Keep your eyes on Heaviside.ca for the latest updates and details. We hope to see all of you wonderful people very soon.
Cheers,
Heaviside
